Circa 1929 Illinois Watch Company ” Mate ” 17J manual wind wristwatch. This is the original marked Illinois Watch Company dial with Arabic numerals on cream dial. This Illinois wristwatch is a Grade 24, Model 4 and there were only 2000 of these produced of this particular grade and model. This watch was manufactured by the Illinois watch company, a very well known watch company. This particular watch is in very good condition with light wear throughout. Please note that this is a vintage watch and would Not be water-resistant.
MOVEMENT: Illinois Watch Company 17 jewels, Movement Serial Number 5271798. Manual wind mechanism (must be wound to make run) Movement in nice condition it is functional and all components work. Movement marked “ Illinois Watch Springfield 17 Jewels 5271798 ”. This watch has a 1 year labor warranty through the Illinois Watch Company. This watch is in running condition and works as it should.
CASE: 14K gold-filled white-tone art deco case with decorative engraving on bezel and sides. Case is in good condition with light wear throughout as something you would expect of this age. Caseback is engraved ” JSM ” on the back and on the inside “Illinois Watch Special Model H Fahys 14K Gold filled 592445 “. Crown is in good, working condition. Crystal is in very good condition. Great size measures 31mm 1.22in not including crown 37mm 1.46in including lugs 10mm 0.39in thick. Marks, wear and scratches possible throughout as what you would expect of something of this age.
DIAL: Original marked ” Illinois ” dial in good condition with large Arabic Indices, a seconds sub-dial at the 6 o’clock marker and a minute track around the edge of the dial. Light marks, chips and wear possible on dial but still in great condition for its age. Radium dial & radium hands, no longer luminous. Very nice hands and markers with patina and oxidation possible. Overall very nice condition, original dial.
STRAP: 18mm black leather strap with ardillon buckle with wear and marks throughout.
